Botox fatalities and public awareness
Filed under (botox, research) by webmaster @ 03:48 am

After 16 recent deaths associated with Botox and another similar product called Myobloc, a consumer group is asking US authorities to issue a strong warning on the product. The deaths are attributed to a spread of the botulinum toxin inside the body from the injection site. The consumer group “Public Citizen”, reviewed reports submitted by the manufacturers to the FDA. A doctor affiliated with the group claims that the botulinum toxin could leak from the injection site into other parts such as the Esophagus and may cause partial paralysis. The group hopes to increase public awareness by asking the FDA to require the manufacturers to post stronger warning labels on their products.
